Great
Ammenities
Great
"car camping" can be found at Table Rock State Park. This
is a full service park, complete with a camp store and a restaurant
that is open year round. There are few stores in this area, so these
amenities are a welcome site for the average camper. 15 cabins,
a meeting center, a recreation center, and even a swimming lake
can be found here. There aren't any "real" grocery stores
nearby so these amenities are helpful.
Tents
and Trailers
The
campsites offer "hook up" sites as well as tent sites.
One bath-house with a shower is open all year. Travel trailers are
welcome here as well as small children and dogs! The crowd can be
overwhelming in the summer but is much smaller during the winter
months.
Keowee
- Toxaway State Park
This
is a great alternative to Table Rock State Park. If Table Rock is
full ar just too crowded for you, try this one. 6 miles south on
Highway 11, this is a quiet campground for tents only. Keowee Toxaway
State Park has a few trails of its own including a Cherokee History
Interpretive Trail. The other trail is 4.2 miles R/T and passes
by the crystal clear Keoweelake.
24
tent sites, a shower house and only six dollars a day. This is also
a great base camp for hikes on the Foothills
Trail. Need we say more!
