The climb to the summit is steep.

There is the least haze around high "noon".

No water is available up here.

The Leatherwood store at Big Creek and Mt. Sterling has great sandwiches.

If you take the loop hike that encompasses the Lower Mt. Cammerer Trail, the AT and the Low Gap Trail be aware that is 15+ miles
